While there has been no shortage of spy photos and teaser videos of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, actual hard facts have been hard to come by.

However, in today’s episode of The Corvette Files, we can bring you some news that doesn’t require us to peer behind camouflage, or squint at blurry photos. Instead, we have engine specifications of the 2014 Chevy Corvette, and they’re very impressive indeed.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette’s “base” engine will be designated “LT1,” and is a 6.2-liter V-8, with 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque. Despite superficial similarities with the previous LS3 engine, the 2014 Corvette’s engine is basically all-new, and it’s packed with modern technology. Direct fuel injection squirts fuel straight into the combustion chamber, for better power and fuel economy. Cylinder deactivation comes into play at highway speeds to further aid fuel economy, which Chevy says will be up to 26 mpg on the highway. Variable valve timing optimizes the engine for fuel economy or power, depending on what the driver is doing with his or her right foot.

The list goes on and on, and if you want all the hardcore details, our colleagues over at Motor Trend have them. For now, enjoy the below videos of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette’s engine on a static dynamometer to measure horsepower, and a tilt stand, which simulates the engine under load in corners.
