You’ve seen them before—the Ram ads featuring the gravely-Marlboro-voiced Sam Elliot, saying “Guts, Glory, Ram”— and if the automaker has its way, you’ll be seeing a lot more of them. In 2009, Chrysler separated Ram from Dodge, a move that is seen as largely successful in helping to distinguish Ram trucks. The 2013 Ram 1500 features a new rotary-dial shifter, allowing you to twist a knob to shift from “reverse” to “drive.” We’ve seen this feature in Jaguar models and others, but Ram is the first to put it in a truck.
