2013 Ford C-MAX Takes the Fight to Toyota Prius V in Hybrid Games Web Ads

2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid Games Web Video

There are moments in advertising just cheesy enough to work when it comes to selling a new car. Take “The Hybrid Games,” a mix of Anchor Man and Sports Center, it stars fictional anchors Bob Brandt and Roger in a “no holds barred” head-to-head competition between the 2013 Ford C-MAX high-roof hatchback and the Toyota Prius V, doing extreme things like going over speed bumps, going grocery shopping, passing a tractor trailer, and filling up at the gas station. These death-defying stunts are followed through with…um…insightful commentary.

Ford has been gunning straight for Toyota Prius V, claiming the Ford C-MAX’s 47 mpg city/47 mpg highway fuel economy to be far superior to the Prius’ 44 mpg city/40 mpg highway figure, while delivering more power, too. Ford highlights a number of features that set the C-MAX apart from its competition in four spots that are approximately 2 minutes each, with all the fanfare of a college game day.

So watch all four of “The Hybrid Games” below. Do they make you want a Ford? Let us know in the comments section below.
