Aston Martin CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez, says the 2013 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster “allows the driver and passenger to experience full ‘sensory overload’ thanks to its outstanding performance.” We haven’t seen the new Roadster in person yet, but the pictures alone make us coo with delight, and we’ll take Dr. Bez’s word about performance. The 6.0-liter V-12 delivers a brawny 510-hp, and the 2013 drop-top boasts two driving modes—”normal” and “sport.”
While the default normal mode likely has ten times more “sport” than whatever you’re driving now, it is quieter and meant for everyday cruising. The sport mode allows for a heightened throttle response, meaning just a little tap on the gas pedal and the V12 Vantage Roadster is ready to pounce. The exhaust note is more robust, markedly louder and adds to the overall feel of driving near a quarter-million dollars on wheels, we suspect.
The 2013 V12 Vantage Roadster features an abundance of carbon fiber on the outside, but there’s also a special interior package which adds even more carbon fiber, for those who can’t get enough. Aston Martin says the new convertible chassis has been slightly modified to better suit the topless V12 version. We’d just like to experience this “sensory overload.”
