2012 Kia Rio Sedan Pricing Announced; To Start at $14,150

2012 Kia Rio Sedan Exterior Front Quarter

Two weeks after announcing pricing for the Kia Rio 5-door, the Korean automaker has released pricing information for the Rio sedan. As is the market trend these days, the Rio sedan will undercut its hatchback sibling in price, starting at $14,150, including $750 for destination and handling. That will put it $200 cheaper than the Rio 5-door across the board.

For that money, shoppers will get a base Rio LX with a six-speed manual transmission. Models equipped with an automatic transmission add another $1100, bringing the Rio LX’s price to $15,250.

Top-of-the-line Rio SX models, which come standard with metal-finish pedals, LED headlight accents, LED tail lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Kia’s UVO infotainment system, are priced from $18,250.

Oddly enough, Kia didn’t release pricing information for the mid-level Kia Rio EX sedan, but we expect it to land $200 less than the $17,250 Kia Rio EX 5-door.

Kia has already announced that the 2012 Kia Rio 5-door will hit dealerships this fall, and the sedan version should follow suit by the end of 2011.
