2011 Ford Explorer pricing starts below $29,000

2011 Ford Explorer Front Right

Ford debuted the all-new 2011 Ford Explorer earlier this week, including pricing.

Base: $28,995/30,995 (2WD/4WD)
The lowest Explorer on the totem pole comes standard with front-wheel drive, as opposed to the 2010 model’s real-wheel drive. (Add $2000 for all-wheel drive.) The base engine in the Explorer is Ford’s 3.5-liter V-6, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, that produces 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. Standard Explorers are equipped with Ford’s latest safety technology, including Roll Stability Control and curve control.

XLT: $31,995/33,995 (2WD/4WD)
Explorer XLT models are also standard with the base model’s V-6, but the six-speed automatic comes with manual shifting. It also receives standard alloy wheels and a reverse sensing system.

Limited: $37,995/39,995 (2WD/4WD)
The top of the Explorer lineup, the Limited comes standard with the MyFord Touch all-in-one infotainment system, HD radio, leather, and push-button start.

Of course, all these prices are just base figures and based on a previous report, we’d expect normal transaction prices to come in quite a bit higher once a few options are tacked on.

Ford has plans to roll out its highly-efficient EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which produces 237 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, at an undisclosed higher price in 2011. Would you pay more for a smaller engine?

All prices include an $805 destination fee. Note that pricing and availability dates for Ford’s new four-cylinder EcoBoost engine are not yet available, but we hear the smaller engine and its greater fuel efficiency will cost more than a similar V-6 model. Add $2000 to each model’s price for the four-wheel-drive version.

    USE TECHNOLOGY TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!
TIRED OF PAYING ALOT FOR GAS? TIRED OF EXPENSIVE OIL CHANGES? TRY AMS!
I drive alot and I am sure alot of others here do the same. I used to pay for oil changes every 3-6k miles on regular oil/filter. I did some research and found that if you switch to AMS FULL Synthetic Oil you can change your Oil every 25,000-mile/one-year drain intervals. That means you can drive your vehicle on the same oil for 25,000 miles before having to change the filter and oil again! I purchase my Oil and Filter and then I just go to the local discount oil lube places with my oil and filter and just pay $15-20 dollars for the labor. That is not the only advantage of AMS synthetic oil you also save on GAS! Industry tests demonstrate an average conservative decrease in fuel consumption by two to five percent by switching to synthetic lubricants. Many AMSOIL customers report even larger gains in fuel economy!
