Is 2009 the Year of Ford?
The Ford Fusion is now the best selling domestic car in America, beating General Motors and Chrysler rivals. Ford Motor *** announced that it has sold 151,137 2010 Fusions so far. This surpasses the Fusion sales record of 149,552 set in 2007.
Execs at Ford believe that the range of trim levels and options are helping to boost sales of the Fusion. More importantly, the company revealed that about 60 percent of Fusion buyers previously owned a Honda or Toyota.
The Fusion Hybrid has a fuel economy rating of 41 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. It surpasses the Camry Hybrid by 8 mpg in the city and 2 mpg on the highway. Ford says that the Fusion Hybrid accounts for about 20 percent of the overall sales.
