2010 Acura MDX: Interior Impression or Dr Who’s Tardis

2010 Acura Mdx Interior

Like all crossovers/SUVs in this segment, the MDX is spacious.
Especially in the front row. Both the driver and passenger sides threatened to envelop myself and my friends with room. The Goldilock seats (“not too firm, not to soft”) and curvy dashboard helped support this fact.

The feeling of space continued into the second row of seating, but stopped there. The third row is really designed to either be folded down for more generous cargo space or children with small or very flat feet. And while the MDX is rated to fit up to seven passengers in the standard 2-3-2 configuration, the middle passenger in the second row would be squeezed by their companions.

A couple of tech features finding their way in vehicles is blind-spot detecting system and rearview camera. On the MDX, the former was a simple light that appeared on either A-pillar when a car came within the large SUV’s blind spots. The latter, which is standard on the MDX this model year, activated automatically when the gear was put in reverse.

The center dash and infotainment column is one of the busiest I’ve ever seen in a vehicle. Buttons were everywhere. But it makes sense; the Acura lineup is one of the most feature-rich in the auto industry. My vehicle, besides the GPS system, XM satellite radio, and other near-standard features, also came equipped with DVD entertainment for the second and third passenger rows in the form of a drop-down screen and wireless headphones. I recommend owners take the time to learn the numerous uses of all this tech. And there’s a lot: XM satellite radio; mp3 player; CD player; real-time weather and traffic reports; USB port; Bluetooth; etc. Even the seats have gone high tech, with heating elements offered in both first and second rows. I loved the (optional) vented front seat feature as well.
