Earlier this month, Detroit auto reporters believe that they have unveiled a secret. That mystery car traversing the streets of metro Detroit is none other than the next generation Lincoln MKS sedan. While itsnot actually scheduled to be introduced into public consumption until year as a possible 2009 model, the Free Press reports a fleet is winding about on public roads.
Details are still scarce. The most interesting tidbits from reports include the MKS to be Ford’s near-luxury brand’s top dog. This bodes ill for the Towne car and the fleets that rely on it for their business. More interesting news is that the rumored 3.7 liter six cylinder to come with the MKS will be direct fuel injection with a a twin turbocharged model coming later.
