Green Car Journal has announced the 2009 Audi A3 TDI as its choice for 2009′s Green Car of the Year.
The 2.0L clean diesel engine, its 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, and estimated 42 mpg highway won over the judges who included celebrity Jay Leno. Standard luxury features such as leather seating and Xenon lighting also put the A3 TDI ahead of the pack.
