2009 Dodge Ram is Truckin’ Magazine Truck of the Year Winner

2009 Dodge Ram Front Cattle

So, as people say that the domestic automakers should move away from manufacturing trucks there comes word that the Dodge Ram has been named the 2009 Truck of the Year by Truckin’ Magazine.
The truck picked up the award for a variety of reasons. First, it seems that people like the weatherproof, lockable, illuminated and drainable RamBox™ storage bins, pickup bed dividers, a 2-foot bed extender and a cargo rail system with sliding adjustable cleats. They also like the new 5.7 liter V8 HEMI® engine that features MDS technology for better fuel economy while generating 390 horsepower and 407 lb.-ft. of torque.

The Ram has received awards from others including:

Ward’s 10 Best Engines of 2009 for the V8 HEMI®
2009 Full-Size Pickup Truck of Texas from the Texas Auto Writers’ Association
Inside Line Editors Most Wanted 2009 from Edmunds.com
2009 MyRide/Autobytel Editor’s Choice Award Truck of the Year from Autobytel.com
Achievement in Party Enabling Technology for the RamBox from Maxim
Best New Pickup from the Automotive Journalist Association of Canada
Best Pickup Truck for ‘08 from Sobre Ruedas

Our take? Not too shabby.
