2008 Porsche 911 Front

Look for Porsche’s 911 to be upgraded in mid-2008. Biggest changes will be under the hood. The six-cylinder gasoline engine will be converted to direct injection and a dual clutch transmission will be available as an option. Called DFI, the direct injection engine is projected to cut fuel consumption by about 10 percent. The transmission will be enhanced to allow shifts without interrupting driver power, even in manual mode.

Exterior changes will show a front end with a larger air intake and redesigned rear lighting. Our take is that Porsche will be seeing dollar signs even before the new car arrives.
