With the realization that gas prices are going to be doing anything but dropping to previous lows, Korean automaker Hyundai Motors has decided to add the 2009 Sonata 4-cylinder to its Santa Fe crossover.Capable of returning 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, the latest motor provides a marked improvement from the 18/24 mpg of the original 2.7 liter and 17/24 mpg from the 3.3 liter respectively.
Also in the cards is a revised 1.6 liter motor in the Hyundai Accent.
Our take? Hyundai has the right idea in adapting to current market conditions. Personally, though, we think they should crank out even more four-bangers.
