Alpine's new iDA-X001 "Made for iPod" head unit won iLounge.com's Best of the Show Award at the 2007 Macworld Conference and Expo in San Francisco, California.

This would be the second win for the product, which also won the Consumer Electronics Show's Mobile Audio Innovations Award for 2007.

During each Macworld Conference and Expo, iLounge editors find and examine new iPod-related products and award the best in iPod related software, hardware, and accessories. Alpine was one of only 10 companies to be honored with the award this year.

The iDA-X001 is feature-rich. First, is has a built-in audio source -- an AM/FM tuner. Everything is done digitally. There is no analog processing involved at all. That allows the iPod data to be displayed and played at an access speed of about 25,000 times faster than Alpine's Full SpeedÂȘ Connection for iPod.

A dedicated USB input permits direct connection of an iPod. The  color 320 x 240 pixel TFT screen displays the name of the artist, the album, track information of the music that is playing, and even displays the album art directly from the iPod.

In addition, there is a three screen view option where you can see the album art, song name, and track information; larger album art display and song name; or clock and calendar information.

Other features can be found at the link. The iDA-X001 will be available in April and has an MSRP of $450.
