GM issues Chevrolet Cobalt Recall

General Motor Corp. notified owners of its Chevy brand’s Cobalts to bring their compact cars in to the dealership. Vehicles affected are 2005-2006 model year Cobalts lacking the optional roof-mounted, side impact air bags. Dealers will install an energy-absorbing plastic in those cars.

The issue was discovered during testing. No injuries have been reported. GM reports that nearly 100,000 vehicles are part of the recall.

Our take? Car safety is important and we’re glad to read GM taking a proactive stance in dealing with any safety-related issues involving its products.
