For the third consecutive year, the Panasonic rear seat entertainment system in the Honda Pilot ranked highest in overall customer satisfaction according to J.D. Power and Associates.
The J.D. Power and Associates study measures the satisfaction of owners who recently purchased a vehicle with a factory installed rear seat entertainment system. Four factors are considered: appearance, video screen, system operation and audio. Three thousand one hundred eighty six owners who purchased a new vehicle between August 2005 and June 2006 responded to the study. Owners of the Honda Pilot said the Panasonic system supplied in the vehicle rated highest in system operation and video screen factors. Moreover, the system was rated highly on its perceived value which is defined as the price that the buyer paid for the system compared to the benefits they believe the system provides.
The Panasonic rear seat entertainment system in the Honda Odyssey followed the Honda Pilot's Panasonic system. Mitsubishi Electric system in the Dodge Durango followed third.
Interestingly, the study discovered that owners want more convenience and ease of operation of their rear seat entertainment system as well as features such as wireless headphones, remote control storage, and storage for DVDs, CDs, and MP3 players.
