The editors of Edmunds.com recently selected a list of their favorite cars.
The selection process is grueling. Each editor voted for their favorite 31 models. Each category was further segmented by standardized price points. To be eligible, the vehicle's MSRP had to be below the price point. Typically, this criteria ended up identifying the base model with no options.
Then at least one member of the editorial staff had to have driven the vehicle prior to the voting deadline of October 1, 2006. Of course, lifestyle of the editor has to be considered an influence in what he or she selected. The demographics of this core group shows that they range in age from the mid-20s to the late 40s and some have kids. Some lead active lifestyles and others ... well, don't.
