“A decision will be made this year.”
Those were the words quoted by reporters at a recent luncheon when they asked Ford CEO Alan Mulally about the Aston Martin brand. Last year, the troubled automaker announced plans to sell the ultra-lux marque as part of its restructuring plans. The announcement had been quite a surprise: speculation had been pointing to Jaguar and possibly even Land Rover to get the axe.
There is currently no information on when the sale will take place and to whom. Ford, which lost over 7.5 percent in sales last year, does not release individual sales figures for Aston Martin.
