Sigh. Earlier this year we reported that General Motors is considering exporting the all-new Chevrolet Camaro to the Old World. Guess what? The world's largest automaker has still not made a decision.
There's definitely no lack of interest. In fact, it's been quite the opposite. Europeans who are aware of the Camaro and are big fans have not only petitioned GM, but they have written out certified checks to encourage the introduction of the car in the European market.
The Camaro has not yet been shown in any European show and issues like converting to right hand drive and emissions concerns can scuttle the idea.
Our take? Let's face it. The American persona is envied worldwide. The Camaro is an American tradition that has roots back to the 1960s. There should be no surprise that Europeans clamber for it. GM might reap some benefits.
