Can you be too successful? Yes, according to Cadillac.
When the brand's CTS first drove onto the parking lot, it surprised everyone, including owner GM, as buyers who normally bought BMW or Lexus lined up with checkbook in hand. Now Cadillac is trying to figure out hot to maintain, or even grow, such interest.
The brand will unveil the newly redesigned CTS next year at the North American International Auto Show next year. The 2008 Cadillac CTS will then arrive in the fall. However, there is now speculation is that a coupe and/or convertible and wagon will follow soon.
Also with the CTS, it is expected the Cadillac will also redesign the STS, the SRX, the XLR roadster, and the DTS sedan. Before they arrive, limited edition "Platinum Series" of the STS, DTS, and XLR will be available. These models will show hand-sewn leather and suede interiors and hand-crafted chrome and wood accents, emphasizing the brand's continued upgrades of its vehicles. The XLR and STS are slated for delivery next spring and the DTS will be coming next summer.
Our take? Don't be surprised if price also goes upscale with Cadillac.
