If your holiday gift list includes buying a new luxury car for the significant other or your kids, Forbes.com can help you narrow down your choices.

Although the list does not include what they call the "blue-blooded" autos like the Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati, DaimlerChrysler's Maybach, or the Ford Aston Martin, the list does include well known names including Lexus, Cadillac, BMW, Infiniti, and Acura. Moreover, the list includes sales increases or decreases year-over-year, where the car ranked in last year's register (if it was on it), and the price.

  • Coming in first is the BMW 3 Series. Ranked last year at #2, the car has experienced a year-over-year increase in sales of 11 percent (107,016 sold in 2006) and it has a base price of $32,400.
  • Second is the Lexus RX. Ranked last year at #1, the car has experienced a year-over-year decline of 1 percent in sales (95,569 sold in 2006). It has a base price of $37,400.
  • Third is the Lexus ES. Ranked last year at #5, the car has a year-over-year increase in sales of 11 percent (sold 67,251 in 2006) and has a base price of $33,170.
  • Fourth is the Acura TL (pictured). Ranked last year at #3, this car has a year-over-year decline in sales of 8 percent (sold 65,503 in 2006) and has a base price of $33,625.
  • Fifth is the Cadillac Escalade. It was ranked #10 last year and has a year-over-year increase in sales of 16 percent (sold 54,163 in 2006). Base price is $54,875.
  • Sixth is the Cadillac DeVille/DTS. It was ranked #6 last year and has a year-over-year sales decrease of 4 percent (sold 54,053 in 2006). Base price is $42,210.
  • Seventh is the Infiniti G35. Ranked #4 last year, this car has a year-over-year sales decline of 15 percent (sold 53,008 in 2006). Base price is $31,450.
  • Eighth is the Cadillac CTS. Ranked last year at #7, this car has a year-over-year decline in sales of 7 percent (sold 50,024 in 2006). Base price is $30,570.
  • Ninth is the BMW 5 Series. Not ranked last year, this car has a year-over-year sales increase of 6 percent (sold 49,296 in 2006). Base price is $43,500.
  • Tenth is the Lexus IS. This car was not ranked last year. It experienced a year-over-year sales increase of 332 percent (sold 48,729 in 2006). Base price is $30,255.

Our take? Could we get on your list? I would love another Escalade.
