Automaker sees sales zoom-zoom across the pondMazda Growth Spurt In Europe

Record sales occurred in the UK, Russia, Spain, and Portugal. The automaker also experienced sales jumps in Germany and France.
Sale of the Mazda5 diesel version, which was introduced in 2005, contributed heavily. Sales jumped a staggering 192.9 percent last year with the diesel version accounting for the majority of volumn
The Mazda6 sports sedan, with an 11.3 percent rise in sales, also did well. (Pictured is the Mazdaspeed6.) Finally, the uber-popular Mazda3 sedan saw a growth of 1.1 percent.
Our take? We've always been impressed with Mazda's offering in the U.S. and, apparently, are many consumers. Sales of Mazdas in the States, especially the 3, have been high and have contributed to majority-holder Ford's coffers. We can't wait to see the reaction to the next generation Mazda3 and Mazda6.
