People who are familiar with the General Motors Hummer would never misconceive the vehicle to be gentle and fuzzy in appearance. It is the rough man's vehicle whether off-road or on the pavement.

Well, you might have to re-evaluate your thinking. GM has in the drawing stages the Hummer G2, which is also referred to as the "Green Hummer."  The drawings were submitted to the Los Angeles Design Challenge in conjunction with this year's Los Angeles Auto Show.

The designs of the Hummer G2 comes from the General Motors Advanced Design office in California. (Oh, yeah. Now things make a little more sense. California!)
Anyway, the concept is to give back to the environment by generating oxygen instead of carbon monoxide.

GM says that the concept is "quite simple." The body panels are algae-filled to transform harmful CO(-2) into pure oxygen that is released back into the environment.

Should be interesting to see if this gets beyond the drawing board and, if so, who would buy it.
