For those readers with a more pessimistic view of the auto industry, Forbes.com annually list the ten vehicles with the worse sales record when compared from the same period last year to this year. (“Worse” defined as sales decline in percentage.)

For 2006, there were eleven vehicles due to a tie. The unfortunate candidates include:

  1. Jaguar X-Type sedan and wagon (tie) with a decline of 50.9%
  2. Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV (tie) with a decline of 50.9%
  3. Porsche Boxster convertible with a decline of 42.6%
  4. Jaguar XJ sedan with a decline of 41.9%
  5. Kia Amanti sedan with a decline of 41.6%
  6. Buick Terraza minivan with a decline of 40.4% (pictured)
  7. Volkswagen Touareg SUV with a decline of 40.0%
  8. Dodge Durango SUV with a decline of 38.3%
  9. Mazda RX-8 coupe/sedan with a decline of 36.1%
  10. Isuzu Ascender SUV with a decline of 35.9%
  11. Chrysler Crossfire two-door with a decline of 35.4%

The article does not discuss why a particular vehicle lost sales.

Our take? We were surprised that  the Boxster made the list. But straddled between the 911 and the Carrera GT, it got lost between its more siblings.
