Toyota Motor Corp. has issued a recall this week affecting its youth-oriented brand, Scion.

Over 30,000 Scion tC coupes are affected. Toyota has discovered that the seat-mounted side air bags and side curtain air bags could activate if the side door is closed hard while either while the car engine is on or shortly after it had been turned off. The automaker has received reports of 17 incidents though there have been no injuries.

Models affected are 2005-2006 Scion tC.

Our take? An information line can be found at the link. We urge owners who own possibly affected vehicles to contact their dealerships or Toyota to quickly resolve the issue.
