Dodge Avenger takes on Paris

If you were a fan of the original Dodge Avenger, keep your eyes peeled next month when what many analysts consider the production version makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

The Dodge Avenger concept first made its debut at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show. The Avenger, which is to replace the Dodge Stratus, is shorter than its predecessor, built more like a four-door coupe or car-shaped SUV than a mid-size sedan. The concept was shown with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine though most likely that will be optional. Instead, a 2.4 liter, four-cylinder engine, will be standard.

More details to follow as the show approaches in September. The Avenger is tentatively schedule to go on sale sometime next year.

Interesting they're going to debut a vehicle in Europe that's going to be primarily for the North American market. Why didn't they choose Detroit or L.A.?
